OS Daily Thread Tuesday 23rd October

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 23/10/07. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good morning everyone.
Can't quite manage the usual wave this morning as i have hurt my back.
What started out as a pain in the neck yesterday (no I'm not talking about OH for a change
) has spread accross my back and down my right arm.
I managed an hour and a half's sleep but then I must have rolled over and haven't been able to sleep since.
Don't quite know what I'll manage to do today. OH made the girl's packed lunches but his good will doesn't stretch to doing the dishes.
The fact that I'm sitting in my kitchen looking at last nights dishes gives you an indication of how flipping sore this thing is. I NEVER go to bed with a dirty Kitchen. I'm always afraid Kim and aggie will do a spot check while I'm sleeping.

Don't know whether to go into the office in now or not.
Tea is easy as I've lifted mince and onon from the freezer.
PenPen....Hope your back is better. See I don't just covet your chickens, I'm after your afflictions too. :rotfl: Have a great time in Bonnie Scotland. x
Churchmouse.....It's not Aussie's half eaten cabbages I'm worried about it's the half eaten postman.
Rzl.... Glad to hear PP is putting on weight. Hopefully if she's texting she is feeling better and I noticed her green light was on here last night so she's obviously keeping an eye on us all.
The birds have started singing now so it must officially be morning.
Off to make a cuppa.
Haribo x

Morning. Another day off for me, then 7 working days in a row starting from tomorrow. Yesterday I managed to cut the grass and get several jobs sorted out. We had some American friends visiting and so we made them huge Cornish pasties. It was a great evening taking over all the things we did in Africa back in the 90's.
More jobs to do today I think. I need to fix the fire place with some fire cement, paint a window, get some gardening done and start to get rid of some things on E-bay. Big tify up for winter and Christmas I think. Motivation is what I need.
Have nice oneNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning Haribo, Pam & all to follow,
I'm just having my arvo tea. I washed all the windows and screens this morning. We had that dust storm go through here a few weeks ago and with DGS here this has been my first chance to clean them. The council guys decided to slash here this arv right opposite us. Cue - big red dust clouds encircling the house. It's always the way isn't it. The hairdresser is coming after lunch tomorrow. She rides a big black Harley.I wonder if she would like a lettuce. :rotfl:
My groceries never turned up. Think the honeymoon period is over now. Time to start whinging.I'm making gallette for tea tonight. DH is bringing me home some salt tonight. I'm making cabbage in brine. It's suppose to be a bit like saukeruet (sp). I've never tried it before. Have no idea if I even like it.
Haribo Hope you get some relief with your back today. Hot wheat pillows can ease it a bit. Twink only lives up the road, she'll come around and do the dishes for you.
MrsMix I hate getting needles. I have really hard veins to find. Hope it doesn't hurt too much.
Well my cup is drained so I better keep going. Hope you all have a nice day and (((hugs))) to those feeling poorly. ByeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

I've got bad veins too it's not too bad when it's done at the hospital but when they do it at the doc's I usually come home with a bruised arm but more often than not two bruised arms as they give up on one and try the other I've even had two of them try and once they do get it ,it dosen't stop to quick either just an awkward s@d me and I've got this to look forward too every month now

My mum has my spare key but she was on a train on her way to stay with her sister in Bournmouth !!!!my neighbour said he could get a ladder up at my bedroom window as i have a tiny window that i keep open, but oh car on the drive was in the way.. and the spare keys for the car are kept in the house !!!!!! so i had to use my friends phone to ask oh to come home, i had to spend the day at my friends house and wait ill oh got home last night... he wasnt a happy bunny !!!!! so im attempting Brighton again after work this morning !!!!

Morning everyone.
Amie hugs to you, thats normal crazychiks trick, hence why i have a spare key for her house here now! LOL.
Cold here again this morning but no frost, had stewing steak for tea last night a real good winter dish with loads of creamy mash and veg!!
Tonight is `quick tea` do to ds3`s footy training, so hot dogs with loads of onions and hm chips.
Today i plan to finish the washing off, i have about 3 more loads to do, then begin to tackle the ironing!
Had a upsetting phone call from a friend last night (iv started a new thread if anyone can help?) and its played on my mind all night so not had the best nights sleep, just hoping someone will be able to give me some useful advice so that i can pass it on.
Right off to have more wake up juice and make a start.
Have a good day

Morning all
Another crisp, fresh, white morning here :T ......
It now official..i can't squeeze another pea into my freezers.... so today the great "use it up" menu plans start.... We have only been here about 12 weeks and everything in there is stuff i have made or veggies i have blanched and frozen -so it won't be any hardship.. I just want to run it down whilst everything in there is at its best... and then i can do a re-stock ready for winter....... think we are going to have a harsh one :j ... hoping not to have to buy anything but a bit of extra milk for the next 4-6 weeks. and perhaps a wee bit of veg....fingers crossed
Hubby will be back from his duty soon - hopefully... don't know what we are going to do.. but as long as we get out - I don't mind.... even if its just a walk or something..
Haribo - hope your back is better soon
redruby -(i think it was you:p ) You know if you get a tough joint again... chop it up, throw it in the processor with some butter, or cream cheese and plenty of seasoning.. and blitz.. it makes a lovely beef spread.. i also throw in an onion, english mustard or horseraddish.... i did the same a few weeks ago when we got a less than yummy beef joint - saves wasting it, as we have no dog...
well had better go and get my weetabix ... and then at some point today i want to give the bathroom a swish and clean the windows -and thats about it for me...
Think it is going to be HM sausages casseroled, yorkies and veg for dinner tonight
well hugs to all those in need and hope everyone has a good day:D-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Churchmouse - around here *to pump* means *to f*rt* :rotfl: Can't imagine what Aussie was doing to the poor old postie now
Bags are nearly packed, I have some ironing to do, then off to get the train to Edinburgh. We're having a day trip to Glasgow tomorrow - not been before. Anyone have any ideas what to do in the centre of Glasgow for the day

Take the subway out to the west end (Byers Road) for the nicest independent shops.
Pump means alot worse than that where I'm from. :rotfl: I'm sending a coloquial phrase book to Lamb Island for Christmas. She's done it again but I promised I wouldn't make a fuss. :rolleyes:0
