Can anyone help? I need to go to work tomorrow and when I get home need to make a dinner VERY quick and easy. I have thought about making something tonight and just heating up tomorrow but it's really a time thing even today. Yesterday we were in the same situation got home at 6pm and I just threw pizzas into the oven and they were really disgusting. I have thought about scrambled eggs/omlettes and will probably go with that just wondered if there were any other alternatives.

Oh I've just remembered I have a slow cooker! But I'm out from 6am-6pm so 12 hours cooking will probably be too long even for this.

    Morning all,

Not sure how long it is since I was on here in the morning...very proud of myself!

PenPin....great to hear that you are home and that OH will have extra help...make sure you rest though.

Haribo...sorry to hear about your back, suffered with mine for years and think that there isn't a worse pain....lots of heat would be my prescription and rest if you can get comfortable.

Aussie...what are you like....did you not invest in an English dictionary while you were in the UK??

Hester....sorry to hear about your uncle

Hugs to those who have had to have blood tests to-day and anyone who is suffering in any way

Nothing much planned here to-day, want to tidy, well clean really, one spare room...think that either DD1 and/or DD2 will be here at weekend as DDIL2 is having a surprise 30th birthday party on Saturday...would prefer if DD2 stayed in London and rested as this second pregnancy seems to be taking its toll, she has reduced her working hours to 2 a week from 3, and baby is not due until Feb.

Dinner will be yesterday's leftovers, might just have pasta and a salad myself, will see how I feel later on.

    Have a good day all,

    Marie

HARIBO~ sending you big (gentle) hugs hope you feel better soon.
AMIE ~ what an ordeal. Hope you get to Brighton this time
JCR16~ hope the dentist went well. I hate them too. And will have to be brave and make another appt.
HARDUPHESTER~ Sorry to hear about your uncle. Sending you hugs.
PENPIN~ take things easy~ good to see you back
    Welcome home DOGROSE.
REDRUBY~ the bra tales made me laugh. My twin nieces are at the age where they are obsessed with boobs. Last summer one of them disappeared upstairs. When she came down she had one of my bikini tops over her t shirt!
GRANNYBROON~ that template would be great thank you. Was tempted to slow cook the cat especially seeing as the chops he snatched were minted. Bet he would have tasted all marinated!
THE MACCAS~ maybe if you had a timer? You could set the SC to come on a bit later?
Well I have taken the dog for a walk, got back and the Postie had been leaving 2 small packages and a calling card. Picked up the card read it put it on the table. Put kettle on then opened first package and it was a t-shirt that I didn’t order. Took me a few mins of eh? What’s this? Then realised the 2 packets are addressed to someone else!! So I’m gonna have to take them round to the poor woman who’s post I’ve opened and explain.:o OOPS I should have looked at the address but I was due umpteen things from eBay etc so just ripped it open. Might explain where ALL my things keep going if the bloomin postie is delivering whillie nillie! (No rude comments AUSSIE~ :p )
HUGS if i havent mentioned you. dont feel left out. x

    catchya later

Good afternoon all. Still have my two three yr old nieces with me (since Sunday) and still watching clips of Finding Nemo, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White on YouTube. They have just had lunch and refusing to cat-nap for an hour. Maybe off to the park to wear them out:rolleyes:. Hope everyone has a fantastic (half-term) week also :)
BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

    Hi Themaccas,

something in the slow cooker would be good, a stew or casserole maybe, as ellie said a timer would be good, I do this when I am at work, just set it to come on at 12, and come home to a lovely meal.

Other alternative is make a chilli tonight, put in in the fridge overnight, and just re-heat tomorrow, just the rice to cook when you get in.

Jacket spuds in the micro dont take long, cheese and beans is an instant filling.

  • Allo, allo allo!!!

Hope everyone is well, I've been lurking so have been keeping an eye on what peeps have been up to! ;)

It's amazing what I can find to do when I have something specific to be getting on with:p ! I'm on half term this week and have said to myself that I'm going to get most of my work done and out of the way before I go back on Monday, well so far today the bed was waaaaay too nice and warm to leave until midday!! And then I just had to try out this lovely bubble bath I've got and so that was a long soak. And now my flat is spotless, I've written down tonnes of recipes to try, I've made rolls and made some fork biscuits and not written a word of any essays!!! :o I'm the world's worst procrastinator, I just can't find my motivation, any tips??

I've been a spectacle wearer for 2 weeks now, never had to wear glasses before now so just getting used to it and blimey, I'm surprised I went as long as I did without thinking I needed them!!!

Trying a new recipe tonight, mackerel stuffed with pesto mash  looks scrummy so looking forward to trying that :D

I'm really enjoying my course and being a student, leaving my last job was the best thing I ever did, so pleased. Just being skint is a pain in the 'arris!! But luckily this is where my lovely friends on MSE and OS help me out, you guys really have been great :A and you probably don't even know it!! But thanks to you all :T .

Right, I'm off to procrastinate a bit more! :o and do some bl00dy work!!!!!!!:rotfl:

Take care all and chat soon, you might see a bit more of me this week!! :p

    (((hugs))) to all xxx

The problem of my uncles funeral is solved, I phoned work to be told that if I take the day off I lose a day's pay, can't afford that & the petrol to get there & some flowers. I'll send flowers a few days after the funeral to my aunt, after all she'll appreciate them more than he will.
Babysat for DGS again while DD went to antenatal & I did the washing up, lol.
I've finished one bag and am about to start 2nd one, I'll post pics of them on my blog later, I'm wondering whether to join Etsy, but not sure, I'll look into it more before I make a decision.
Hope your arm & ankle are both feeling better now Mrs Mix
    Hugs Hester
