puppy mishaps

Options
Our puppy has had several accidents on our cream carpet which we haven't been able to get to straight away, causing them to dry into it. Have tried various ways to get it out, with no luck, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry, speaking as someone who bought a) a new carpet, then b) a new puppy, and then tried a variety of liquids and unctions to remove stains we have had little success. Mainly, the best approach is to lightly flood the area with water, to dilute it, then absorb it back out. Smell can be well masked with diluted Zoflora. A Bitter Apple spray is good for detering the puppy from habitually returning to the same spot. Newspaper laid down was something that caused conflicting opinions, but we used it with some success, as regular puddles could at least be lifted off fairly quickly, although seldom before some soak through had occurred. Arm yourself with some of the monster sized cloths from Lidl (They have pictures all over them & come in packs of two) They make an excellent soak up pad, (standing on them can draw out a great deal of the liquid from the carpet) and they dry off very quickly once rinsed through.

None-the-less, I'd say the cost of the puppy has to include the cost of a replacement carpet (which we haven't done yet) Sorry.

Yep we had to replace our new cream carpet - not through accidents luckily they were on the vinyl but through chewing a hole in the middle of the floor.

Luckily we had pet insurance and claimed on that but it has to be factored in to the cost of a new puppy. lol

you can buy some stuff from wilkinsons to get rid of the smell to stop the pup going back to the same place to do his mess. not sure if it'll lift the stain but it neutralises the smell!
