Beware when buying Day Returns on the train!
I can't quite believe train ticket pricing. I travel once or twice a week from Leeds to Manchester on the train for work, which is not frequent enough to make the most of a season ticket. For the first couple of weeks I just bought STD Day Return tickets on the train but soon discovered when staying over at a friend's in…

Anyone know what this pipe is and if its important....
Anyone know what this pipe is and if its important.... I think its an air inlet or outlet pipe coming from the altanator on my ford galaxy 1995 TDi model. It has snapped my dad tied it out of the way so it didn't drag on the floor whilst driving and we looked in the haynes manual and we think that is what it is but don't…

Crank Shaft
I have an old Ford Escort Estate, recently purchased, bodywork in excellent nick, drove beautifully until it just died on me last week. Now it makes a horrible clnking noise, and a mate has suggested it's the crank shaft. Can anyone tell me how much this is likely to cost? I know its gonna be a lot. Thx!

Picked up motorbike today.....with very wet hands!
OH picked up his Honda today and rode it well over 150 miles home mostly in the rain. The Richa waterproof gloves he had bought did nothing and his hands were wringing wet by the time he got home. Surely that's not right? Shouldn't the gloves have kept his hands dry or even very slightly damp in the worst case scenario?…

Free legal cover, 3% off shell fuel, 1% of other fuel
MSE's motorists might be interested to know that the new Citibank Shell Mastercard offers 3% off shell fuel, 1% off other fuel suppliers and free motor legal cover. Some motor legal cover policies cost as much as 25 quid; the policy summary isn't unduly different to some I've seen offered for sale by other motor insurers.…

New BMW - Gap Ins, Tyre Ins, detailing and Tracker
I have just signed a contract for a factory ordered BMW 335d M Sport Coupe. The dealer mentioned various additional products that seem to add a further £1000 or so to the invoice price! I am not keen to do this on what, is already, a very expensive car. The products are: GAP Insurance - I am pretty savvy about this having…

Several companies in southern England are charging passengers more in this way but the problem is greatest at South West Trains (SWT), the operator exposed this week as having…
