Find cheapest petrol prices without registering to Petrolprices.com
In answer to Martin's article about how to find the cheapest petrol http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheaper-fuel#cheapest I have found a few ways to get the information locally without registering to the website, if you don't want to. My local paper (The Warwick/Leamington Courier and the Kenilworth Weekly News)…

MOTs
Just read the article on using council MOT stations to get a car MOTd. Thing is, if the car failed, you'd have to get the work done somewhere else (or do it yourself) for the retest. But as the car has failed, you wouldn't be allowed to drive it on the road in order to get the work done. Am I understanding this right?

Loophole! Get a year's RAC cover for £8.99
What's the deal? The price of breakdown giant RAC's basic roadside cover currently has been reduced to £30 if bought online. Yet there are two tricks to slice the cost down further. UPDATE NOTE 26 June 2.15pm Both Quidco and Greasypalm have pulled the cashback offer from their sites, probably due to popularity. However…

Broken Gearbox - garage still responsible?
Hi I purchased a Corsa from a garage around 15 June last year. Im sure I had 12 months warrenty at the time which has just expired. Yesterday when I took car to local garage for service, he said I had gearbox problems - possibly requiring a replacement (approx £600). If I am out of warrenty, can I still go back to the…

What is Category D repaired - used car
Hi, I've seen a used car on Autotrader at what seems like a really good price but it is described as having been "repaired" and the repair being a "category D" repair. I've never heard of this before - please could anyone give me a quick low down on what to look out for or is this too risky a venture for someone who is not…

Knock for Knock split liability
Ok, I've been dragged into this cr*p where insurance companies do deals and both parties get screwed. My insurance company have just quoted a section from the policy saying they have full control over the claim which means what ever they decide goes. My question is... what can I do about it? It's not just the money loss -…

Hi Our breakdown cover is up for renewal this week and I'm looking for some advice. I'm trying to find cheap Autoservice full cover. We'd certainly like home and roadside cover as a minimum. Handbrake malfunctioning
A few weeks ago, whilst taking my car (Honda Jazz) out of the garage, I discovered that despite taking the handbrake off I could move the car. At first I thought there must be something obstructing the car, but after checking I realised there was nothing there to stop car moving. I eventually got the car to move by really…

Scrap Cars uk
You know how it is, the same old problem the car has failed its MOT test or has broken down or in some way (eg. engine fcuked) or otherwise got into that classification of "knackered", now you have this problem that it often doesn't look good as a garden ornament, and yet is unsaleable, and not of any value to scrap…
