Chinese Scooters
Options
Hi,
Over the last few months there appears to be loads more chinese scooters on the roads. I have heared they are better now than say a year or two ago?
Considering a 125 Scooter for commuting 13 miles (6.5 each way) for work.
Are they worth considering or should I keep well away???
Welcome any views, particularly from someone who has purchased one recently.
Thanks

I'm interested to hear peoples views on these too, since they're like £5-800 and seem too good to be true.0

I'm looking or a replacement scooter as well...last one i bought was £2200 for a 125 French MBK...it's been great but getting a bit old and rattly...
Seeing these Chinese imports for £800 sets me thinking....5 things i always look for.
1. Local servicing and spare parts...is there a good network and supply chain..you don't want to have to travel 40miles for a warranty job?
2. UK weather proof...a lot of the early foreign imports were dry weather bikes and didn't like English damp.
3. UK road proof.....good suspension, big enough wheels to rid the potholes?
4. Reliability...you don't want to break down on a scooter halfway to work and be left at the roadside.
5. Good acceleration...you need to beat our faster cars away from lights to get safer faster.
I like the Piaggio MP3...but at £4000 a pop it's just too much....be good to get some recommendations.0
