Going to Poole tomorrow

GLASTONBURY - WEEKEND - I'm going to Poole on Monday (tommorow)
Anyone know what it might be like going south on the M5 from the bridge to Jnc 23 where I turn off for the A 39 towards Street, turning right at the Pipers pub to avoid Street - shortcut to the B3151 Going to Yeovil/Dorchester and onto Poole
Or would I be far better off going M4 J17, A350 ?
