Fill petrol only to click, or all the way?
Hi, My mum says she heard it was more efficient to only fill your car up to the click on the petrol pump, rather than filling it up all the way...is there any evidence that this would make any difference? Shane.

Most powerful car with cheap road tax??
I do a lot of motorway driving but like everyone else, I want to save save save on the costs. As all cars in road tax Band B cost only £35 a year to tax, I was trying to find the most powerful car in that group. It has to be a diesel for it to be economical too. The two that I found are the Clio or Megane 1.5 Dci 100bhp.…

Cheeky AA - saved £24
Not sure if this is the right place. But I got my annual renew notice from the AA charging £92. I checked on the AA website and they are offering the same deal for only £68.25. They claimed this was for new members only even though the button on the site said RENEW not sign up, therefore implying anyone could take…

Can I still be fined if I didn't get a parking ticket?
This afternoon I parked in a pay and display bay for literally 2 mins. I didn't buy a ticket as I was in a hurry to get to the bank. When I came back to my car I saw a traffic warden writing out a ticket on his hand-held thingy. I rushed across the road (nearly killing myself), jumped into my car and sped away before he…

Most economical car / vehicle spreadsheet design
There's a lot of things to calculate when buying a car. It's so complicated and the choices so numerous that it's nigh on impossible to do in your head without falling for traps like buying into a brand. I expect this has already been done, and if so where? - and can we build on it? Here are the factors I have thought…

Car 12 Months Out Of Warranty!
Hope someone can help me. I have a 2003 Seat Ibiza 1.2. It won't start so I have taken it to my local Nationwide Autos garage to look at it. I didn't take it to the main dealer as it is 12 months out of warranty and I have a distinct lack of trust with them given the huge service bills the saddled with me each year.…
