Cheeky AA - saved £24

Not sure if this is the right place. But I got my annual renew notice from the AA charging £92.
I checked on the AA website and they are offering the same deal for only £68.25.
They claimed this was for new members only even though the button on the site said RENEW not sign up, therefore implying anyone could take advantage of the offer. They backed down straight away and said as a valued customer they would renew my membership at this lower price.

Not a huge saving but £24 is £24!

I'ts just a shame that everything has to be negotiated these days,i did a similar thing with broadband and saved six pounds a month. You only become a valued customer when you complain, people who say nothing get nothing!!

I did that with the AA last year. The price on the internet was a lot lower than I was quoted on the renewal forms so I rang up and said and said could I cancel and buy the new offer and they immediately matched teh internet price and gave me a discount on having an additional person added to make my membership a joint membership

    Was well pleased with them

Respect to the AA. Its just a pity that more firms don't have such a good grasp of common sense and customer service.

I used to work in Dixons. Prices were always changing and, every now and then, the new price label and the new price on the till would be different. If so, you would always go with the lower price for that sale, but immediately remove the price label and get onto to Head Office to let them know there was a problem and find out which one was the right one.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
