Wanted a car which is easy to get out of

Currently own a '96 mondeo which has been trouble free (touch wood). Unfortunately i have problems with my knees which causes difficulty and pain getting out of the car. To me the mondeo seats seem lower compared to say a vectra. I know it has a height adjustment but i find it comfortable as it is for driving. As you can imagine when i get out of the car i am getting up hence putting strain and weight on my knee.

Have no problems with cars such as galaxy, 4x4 etc where i step down but not keen on 4x4 and mpv is a big for my needs at present. Therefore it am looking for a car that will carry myself and my 3 young children. Family size is preferred. Budget is £3500. Any recommendations?
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

Have a look at what the old folks round your area are driving- they seem to like small runarounds that are higher up,iyswim- keep an eye out in the local newspaper for one that they are selling on- the oldies round our way seem to like new cars which they renew every three years. MAking for a healthy sell on market.

I got a Ford Focus Ghia which I find a huge improvement on previous car. I don't know how it compares to a Mondeo or Galaxy.

It's trial and error, I'm afraid, which is a problem when your knees are playing up.

Couldn't you use the height adjustment at least for getting in and out?
BTW, my partner's citroen multispace is comfy to get in and out, too, but that might be a bit large for your needs.

    Hope you'll work something out!

We used to have a picasso. About the same size as an astra / focus, but high up. Also it has 3 full size rear seats so you can fit 3 childs seats in the back.

I have had knee pain and dislocations in the past so I know it can be bad. However, maybe it's a good thing to bend your knee.

But as for car suggestions, what about giving mini mpv's a try. Vauxhall Agila, Suzuki Wagon R+ (both same car latter cheaper), vauxhall zafira, toyota yaris verso, suzuki liana.

I am disabled and I have found the best cars for me are either the Zafira or the Meriva, both by Vauxhall. With your young family I would say the Zafira. You can get a 2000 one for around 3 grand.

Try a Peugeot 307. I had one as a hire car not too long ago. The driving position and seat postion is quite high .... very MPV like yet the car looks like a normal hatchback.
