Useless female here with a problem, my car battery is flat as a pancake so much that I can't access the boot as it locks down and that is where the battery is stored (volvo) so how do I charge it? I know DH did this before from the engine compartment and there are kind of like 4 nuts and bolt bits that stick up above the fusebox (I think) near to the passenger side windscreen anyway and he attached the charger to two of these on the advice of the garage but I don't know which two and I need to go pick up my mum and dad this afternoon and have no way of contacting them to tell them as I can't find my mobile with their number on and my mum probably doesn't have hers switched on anyway = she never does. SO can anyone help? DH is out of contact as he is working in Denmark.

One idea here :

Not very practical though0 -
the positive jumper cable to the
main power cable to the starter, which goes directly to the battery.
Attach the negative cable to bare metal on the engine or chassis. Connect
the other ends to a good battery, unlock the door and open whatever you
need to get to the battery. Disconnect cables, lower the car, and connect
directly to the battery.
Actually this was the anwer MArkyT. You can get in to the engine no bother and I have a charger so didn't need another battery and DH phoned by chance and talked me through it so it is charging as we speak, thank you so much for taking the time though. You are a star and if I could get into advanced I would send you a virtual beer but the forum is playing up on me - not having a good day. You are a star (I tried and failed to google an answer so well done)0 -
hurrah! Glad to be of service.0
