Hi there,
just bought an escort N reg at auction - has 6 months MOT, no Tax.
Now looking to get it home or pay £5 storage per day.
Wanting to join a breakdown (prob Autoaid, but 48 hrs must elapse before claim) in case it breaks down on way home (about 30 mile journey)
will be sorting out ins and tax tomorrow
also thought about car trailer / transporter - any suggestions on best way to hire these?
anyone else bought a car at auction - what was your experience of it?
Help / advice / experiences appreciated...
PS - if anyone wants an N reg escort - lovely blue silver colour - let me know :0)
(PPS - I'm joking - honest!)

I've driven mine home without any problems. Make sure your Insurance covers you for Third Party in case of an accident. If plod stops you, show them your Auction reciept and tell them your getting it Taxed when you arrrive home.0

Ask the auction to deliver it for you - saves a lot of hassle with insurance & not being familiar with a new car!

Bought my current car at auction,a 99 Peugeot 406 HDi,in August 2005,and 2 weeks later, went on holiday to France with it.
Apart from the usual wear and tear associated with this model, (Drop link bars, crank pulley.) the car has covered 22k in under 2 years, and has started first time, every time.
It has it's oil changed every 6k,as the previous owner never changed it in 18 months of having it,which is not recommended on a diesel, and I only do this because I can get my oil free, therefore only paying for the filter, and I tend to use Shell 10/40,as recommended.
Cost when bought?
Including fees,£2150.Retail value at the time,£3250,so a real bargain.
May well replace it with another,in about 18 months time.
Ken.That's my mutt in the picture above.0
