iphone 4 on the blink
I have an iphone 4 (not 4s) which is 16 months old, on an O2 contract with 8 months left to run. Over the last few days it keeps just shutting down for no reason, and sometimes when I am using it the screen goes all fuzzy and looks like TV interference but coloured IYKWIM. I have to reboot it all the time and sometimes…

Getting contract out in someone else's address
Hi there, I hope that someone can help me. I had a housemate about 4 months ago and in the end I kicked this individual out for stealing money from me on quite a few occasions. Today I get a letter through from TMobile in his name and was quite suspicious, so I opened it. It was from TMobile saying talking about his new…

Three phone 'uneconomical to repair', so we're not.
Hi All 1st post here. I have a blackberry on 3 network. 24 month contract. After 9 months it has stopped working. No water damage as the pads are white. Sent it back to them and they have said there was 'a missing component on the main electronics board'. The letter then goes on to say this can occur if the phone has been…

Mobile Insurance
Hi, I have an iPhone 3GS covered under my phone insurance however, when I bought it I had to jailbreak it to unlock it to my SIM as Orange refused to do anything with it as the friend I bought it from had already cancelled their contract with them (good customer service!) Does jail-breaking invalidate any insurance?…

New Tesco mobile - when do the free texts kick in?
Bought a new Tesco PAYG mobile and got it on the triple credit tarrif. There's an offer just now where you get 5000 free texts if you top up by £15. It's supposed to be automatic if your phone was registered after 1st May 2012, which this one was. I topped up by £15 as soon as the phone was up and running and got a text to…

O2 unlimited data bolt on simplicity contract. Not so unlimited.
I've been on an O2 simplicity contract for a few years now, and I still have the "Unlimited Data" bolt on. Recently I've had to move home at the start of June, and BT won't be around to install the line until the 10th July, so I've been relying on BT Openzone (Very flaky in a residential area) and my Motorola Atrix with…

Cheapest contracts - discuss? Any better ones out there?
Being a poor student I am looking for the cheapest contract (or rolling contract) available. I am currently with T Mobile paying £5.87 per month which gets me unlimited texts and 300 minutes per month. When I started this contract it was £5 per month and they seem to keep upping the monthly charge, which is irritating as I…

Is it possible to factory reset an Android phone without the screen?
I have an Acer Liquid Metal with a broken screen. I would like to sell it for spares or repair, but as the screen doesn't work at all I am not sure how to do a factory reset. Is it possible to plug it into a PC and reset it like that? I would like to delete all personal data before selling.
