Energy Efficiency / ignorant questions
I got a new lamp last night and its energy efficency is A+, the bulb it comes with is also A+. What exactly does this mean? The bulb is LED, I am aware that they use less energy than the old type bulbs, but is the lamp only energy efficient because of the screw in bulbs it can take? Or, does it also mean when it is plugged…

Getting rid of the smell of cigarettes!
We've just bought a second hand oak table and leather chairs. Was advertised by someone we know on behalf of her mum so thought it would be ok. Got it home and set it up and it smells of stale smoke. It's that bad we've dismantled it and bought our old table and chairs from the garage and put the wooden one there for an…

Acrylic or Steel bath?
Our old Acrylic bath cracked last night when our wee lad was using it was sliding up and down and a large crack across the width of the bath appeared. I had noticed for years that bath was very flexible at bottom and did wonder how long it would last as its 25 years old. So now I have to decide whether to get an acrylic or…

Removing varnish/colour from interior stone wall
We have an exposed stone wall in our living room. The house dates from the 1800s and we like the wall as a feature, however at some point in the past a previous owner has painted it with some sort of dark varnish. Is there a recommended way to clean it up and restore the stonework? Can post pics if that's helpful.
