  • If it's just dirty, warm soapy water or a spray upvc cleaner.

If it's grey and dull you might need something stronger, look for upvc restorer.

If its years of neglect !, i would use as i do ,a non scratch oven cleaner, which will take quite a while to clean depending how fussy you are.
me ! my 36 year old windows were fitted by stormseal windows manafacturer , since long gone,.But my windows only look recently fitted windows , once you have got them clean , i then use a cheap car polish a few times a year & that gives a sparkle to them , & i do live in a industrial area (quarry).when its dry in the summer i give them a 2 minute brush off with a paint brush !& bobs your uncle.

If they are really, really bad, Astonish cookware cleaner with a none scratch scourer. For normal bad we use a cream cleaner with a cloth (see link below) if not too bad then the universal Barkeepers Friend does a fab job with a damp cloth.

No matter how bad it comes up really well, we renovate property - seen frames that are totally grey never cleaned in 20 years still look good when restored. The only thing you cant generally get rid of is some bird muck actually etches into the plastic.

The solvent cleaner is better on nearly new PVCu so avoid if doing old dirty stuff.

Will that stuff take white masonry paint spatter off of rosewood upvc frames? We had our house painted really and I was struggling to get it all off with just soapy water and standard upvc cleaner.
