Combi Boiler Pressure Too High *When On*
We were lucky enough to inherit a Worcester boiler with our house (28i Junior to be precise). Never had a problem with it, or the CH system. Bled a top of house radiator sunday night as the top wasnt hot, no probs there, didnt check the boiler pressure afterwards though, and Monday morning the missus had hold/cold shower…

Heating: heat pump? solar thermal? summat else?
We live in a village with no mains gas, and I'm trying to work out the best form of heating. We currently have a wood-burning stove, which works well and we like the dry, radiant heat it gives, but it's getting hard unloading and splitting the wood, and it would be good to have another option on cold mornings. I was…

Where can I get a cheap front door?
Hello, Our old timber front door keeps swelling up in the damp weather and getting stuck in the frame (and has draughty gaps around it when the weather is dry), so I'm guessing the whole thing needs replacing, including the frame? Found some reasonable PVC ones in B&Q but then remembered our window frames are mahogany…

which boiler?
As part of some extensive work building an extension, we're taking the opportunity to replace our old Baxi Bermuda which sits in the chimney behind the gas fire. It still works fine but I know its inefficient and will need replacing sooner or later and we want to open the chimney and get a wood burner. But I'm a bit…

New Soakaway Drain Pipe Required - Drain Cleaning Co. or Builder Needed?
I have raised a new thread for this as it is a different question I wanted answering. We have got to have a new soakway drain pipe put in as the existing drain appears to have been "bragged" according to Severn Trent when we had a flooding problem. There is a drainage point but nothing beneath about 6" of drainpipe. As…

Bus Stop
Not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes! We have always had a bus stop on our road which is situated two properties away from our house. Last year, our road was resurfaced and the bus stop was extended and now stretches up to our property. This was done without consultation and includes double red lines! Is…

Boiler pressure high since annual service
My glow worm 30cxi boiler manual says pressure should be between 0.7-1.0 bar and in 3 years here it's always been within those parameters and not needed topping up. When I had my annual boiler service 2 weeks ago the engineer said it would be better topped up to 1.2 bar so he did. I don't look at the display all the time…
