I have water coming out of the vent pipe over the heating expansion tank and its hot can anybody help please

if it's only just started it's likely you have a blockage in the heating systemI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

it could be but if it's getting that hot then i would expect the overheat stat to knock off the boiler
OP what is the make & model of your boiler & what is the temp dial set to on the front ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

yes it would providing the pipe isn't totally blocked, something like sentinal x400 in the system for a week or so then flushed outI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

the boiler keeps coming on and of.and been draining water of and it is chocolate brown and upstairs is red hot and had to remove rads don stair and hose out as were full of sludge.still coming from vent0

if it's that hot then it could be as Mr T said, a faulty boiler stat is dangerious, the header tank isn't designed for extremely hot water, you should really turn it off & get someone inI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
