Ideal Logic HE 30 combination boiler

Planning to convert my conventional boiler, got a quote for Ideal Logic HE 30 combination boiler for 2848 GBP (as it includes gas pipe work, new location for boiler, etc..) But this is one of the cheapest quote. (have around 6 quotes)

Would like to know if someone have "Idea Logic HE 30 combination boiler" installed 2 or 3 years back, how is it?

The firm installing this is giving around 10 years parts and labor warranty, but just want to make sure how is this boiler in general.

Did google and read some threads in this forum, as they were mixed in opinions and old.. trying to find latest opinion and for this exact boiler rather than Ideal in general as the surveyor told Ideal is doing good now and especially this model

I not 100% certain but is the boiler you are looking at the one below the logic plus? And, again you will have to confirm, therefore practically the same boiler?

Anyway, if so, a friend has it and had to have it repaired after only 13 months. Cannot remember exact cost but think about £100.

I have a logic plus, installed 2 years ago and has been fine so far (touch wood). After much research and trying to weed out the doom sayers basing opinion on previous models I got the impression ideal had turned the corner and have done a good job with the new boilers. So much so a rumour went round that they had reduced their design team working on new products/improvements as current crops has surpassed expectations. Who knows but so far I am happy with mine.

Oh it's not Logic+ !

googling about logic and logic+, ideal website says 7 year warranty for logic+ and only 2 years for logic... Fishy.

Will check with the firm whether they will be able to do the logic+ for the same price

Ask your installer for confirmation but I was told that both models are practically identical underneath. Someone maybe along to confirm.

Yes, even my installer confirmed both are identical underneath.. But only the display changes and it will cost me around 80 quid more.

Don't have the exact numbers, from my memory

British Gas - Worcester Bosch - 4100+
Some company - Worcester Bosch - 2500 (they didn't even bother coming to my home to survey, so just ignored them)
Independent boiler installer - Ideal - 3500+
And remaining are around 3K.

I would 100% go for a Worcester Bosch over a new Ideal. Hate the things (Ideal Isar, anyone?).
