Conservatory/Kitchen Window leaking!
Hi, With the recent wet weatherory my kitchen window (which looks into the conservatory) has been leaking at the top of the frame. It is obvious that water has penetrated the cavity wall just above the kitchen window as there is no water outside the kitchen wall (which is also the inside conservatory wall). The water then…

Re installing open Fire Cost
Hi all, Was wondering if anyone here has re opened and re installed an open fire? The house we are in now had an open fire but was boarded up and plastered over. Hi, Got a few problems with my boiler.... The boiler is an Ariston Microgenus 23 (8/9 years old) and since I bought my house about 15 months ago, the reset warning light would show (usually when I put the mixer hot tap on in the bath and just get cold water), and it was a case of just pressing reset and all was fine. Had…

Problems with British Gas alarm
I know ultimately I need to get an engineer out, but thought I'd ask anyway: Last night, the alarm panel box started going off inside and said there was a fault on the landing. After I keyed in our code the noise stopped. The trouble light stayed on. This morning there are no lights on the alarm at all. The clock is…

Order of bathroom fit
I know this question has been asked many times before but everyone has a different bathroom so was hoping for suggestions for my own. White gloss paint
I have read on various threads on here that when using white gloss paint, it is better to use a water based one, as it will not yellow in the same way as other white gloss. My question is, what manufactureres make this, and where can I get it? I ask as I have looked in B and Q, Homebase, and Wilkinsons, and they do not…

Structural surveyor fees?
Hi, I need some rough guide for surveyors fees. I'd like to create two new door openings in the wall, and as I'm assuming they are load bearing, the freeholder will want the survey to say what/where etc. I need to start ringing around but I'd like to have a ballpark figure so I know what's reasonable or not. Thanks
