Where to look for a replacement shower part?
We need a new thermostatic cartridge for our Bristan shower and I've done an online search by part number but the cheapest price I've found is £90 (could only find two suppliers). Where is the best place to look for this sort of thing, would I be better going to a plumbing merchant or something?

Cold Outside Wall
I have had a few condensation issues in the past with my exterior bedroom wall which is cold all the time. I have a cavity wall but no cavity wall insulation as the companies that do this stated my home was unsuitable as there are bits of rubble in the cavity. I am in the process of redecorating and thought this would time…

Smelly water ?
Hi guys over the last month or so every other time we use the sink tap or the shower in our en suite we get a very strong eggy smell, it doesn't seem as if it's blocked and I'm not quite sure if it's coming from the actual water itself - It seems to be getting worse and more frequent, I'm no plumber by any means, any you…

New Lampshades and possibly a daft question!
We're slowly getting the house sorted, and I've been buying new lightshades. But I'm a bit confused (not that it's difficult;)). They are rated for a 60W incandescent lightbulb, but only an 11W energy saving bulb. What??? I assumed that if a shade is rated for a 60W incandescent bulb, that you could quite happily put a 20W…

The wire has solid copper cores coloured red, black and a…
