Has anyone ever painted their stairs before? I really cannot put down carpet as my daughter is autistic and cannot stand the feel of it also she pulls it up !!! What paint would you recommend and would it last/look ok in a house with kids/cats/dogs etc...Many Thanks.

Vax carpet cleaner
This is a straightforward carpet cleaner which worked well until the other day. The problem: the carpet cleaning fluid does not reach the carpet despite a full reservoir and so while the motor/suction is working well the carpet remains dry. Any ideas, I have checked the manual (unhelpful) no ideas there!
