Fireplace (old style)
I have a mid terrace house built around 1915-1920. Currently there is an ugly brick fireplace and I am considering replacing it with a fire in the style that would have orginally been there. Could anyone point me in the direction of pictures or suggest the style of fireplaces around 1915-1920. Thanks.

Insulating a roof with minimal space between roof and inner ceiling?
Let's hope I can explain this sufficiently... My house is essentially a terraced "bungalow" with the attic space built out for the bedrooms and bathrooms. There is a small attic on top of the bedrooms - more of a crawl space really. The sloped 'ceiling' in the bedrooms is directly attached to the roof beams; said roof…

Do you manage to keep all your favourite magazines in your house?
I have about 3 years' worth of movie magazines and my wife asked me to get rid of them. Personally I would like to keep many of them in the house - not in the garage or shed. However, when I searched for magazine racks, all of them are only meant for a few copies. The only option seems to buy a large bookshelf. Is there…
