Cleaning up after the workmen

Hi all,

Cracking on with my first house renovation. The electricians are just finishing, and having channelled out walls everywhere left loads of rubble.

The rubble is easy enough to clear, but I wondered about the dust. I was going to search for an industrial vacuum, but the sparky suggested buying a Henry. Seen other branded vacuums on ebay for as little as £30 new.

Anyone have any tips? I don't mind if it gets ruined - it'll be a one off usage. But I obviously want it to be able to deal with brick and plaster dust.

Look forward to a reply/advice

Cheers, yorkie

I bought Wickes own version, cheap, but rubbish with the foam filter, excellent with the paper bag filter though.

Decent tradesmen will clean up their own mess. Tell them politely but firmly.

Any bagless vacuum will do the job, but get one with powerful suction. If you have more work to do, you might want to consider a wet and dry.

Yes in the case of the rubble, but dust.... clear up today ... and if by magic more appears tomorrow.

Henry is good, worth the investment.
