Fireplace (old style)

I have a mid terrace house built around 1915-1920. Currently there is an ugly brick fireplace and I am considering replacing it with a fire in the style that would have orginally been there.
Could anyone point me in the direction of pictures or suggest the style of fireplaces around 1915-1920.
Thanks.

very simple style for a small terraced house.
the posher ones had the tile inserts down the sides.
sometime you see fairly large wooden surrounds or overmantles.Get some gorm.0 -

The tiles may very well be original (doesn't mean it is nice). Check out the fireplaces in the above link.0
