Front door lock question

I want to replace the front door lock - something like one of these (scroll towards the bottom):
http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?pp=Show+all&s=Price%3A+Low+-+High&storeId=20001&catalogId=1500000701&langId=-1&c_2=2%7Ccat_14046964%7CDoors+and+Door+furniture%7C14113398&c_3=3%7Ccat_14113398%7CDoor+furniture%7C14113356&c_1=1%7Ccategory_root%7CBuilding+and+Hardware%7C14046964&c_4=4%7Ccat_14113356%7CDoor+locks%7C14113361
My query is that my current lock is opposite to those shown here i.e. when you look at my front door from the inside, it opens from the left. If you look at the locks on the link, they are for doors that open on the right.
Can I use one of those locks and simply use it upside down or do I need to find a lock that's the opposite way around (please don't say I'll need to change the door so it opens in the opposite way!). An old house by the way, in case this seems odd.
thanks.

Assuming you mean a similar lock to the one above. You simply mount it the way that you want, it will make no difference. Some you can only mount in one direction, but some of those may have reversible latch etc...0 -
Hi,
