No Hot water but cold is fine

Hi, wondering if someone could shed some light on this situation. This morning I have found that no water is running from the hot water tap but the cold water tap is fine. Never seen this and I am a bit confused. I am thinking it may be due to the weather but surely the cold water tap would also not work.
Please help if you know. Thanks

If you have a conventional system with a CW tank in the loft and a hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard, it may be the cold feed to the cylinder has frozen up in the loft. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0

I have the exact same problem as Sovereign. My house is all electric, on a slab, hot water tank in the attic. Cold water runs just fine, nothing comes out of the hot water tap.
So, the pipes might be frozen. What now? It was 16 degrees Fahrenheit (in Louisiana, this is like a first in 30 years for us!), it is right now 19, and the highs today are I think 35.
It's too late to try to wrap any pipes up in the attic, so what now? Wait til they warm up and see what happens? Put a space heater up in the attic to try to warm it up?0
