Sofa Sofa leather protection

Hi all,
We just bought a 3 and a 2 seat sofa from sofa sofa in chocolate coloured saddle leather. Had a call from them saying that (suprisingly)they highly recommend purchasing the leather guard protection scheme for this type and colour of sofa (cost £79/ £59). Apparently, this gives me a 5 year guarantee on the leather and somebody will come out and clean any scratches off the leather for the next 5 years.
I assume that this is just sales person rubbish trying to sell me an extended warranty and that it is a bit of a rip off adding the extra protection. But does anybody think/ know anything different?

Normal sales rip off. We had a few bits from sofa sofa, both are great, don't have fabric protection and are holding up well, although not that old!
