Igloo issue - ex supplier
Wondering if anyone has any advice. We switched from Igloo to another supplier in July. Between then they completely messed up the opening / closing meter reading and Igloo issued our final bill at a totally unrealistic estimated meter reading, despite us having a smart meter fitted by them. We had a credit balance with…

Cost of renewal of a broken air source heat pump.
Hello, I hope someone can give me some advice on replacing an old air source heat pump. We moved into a shared ownership house last year which has a Daiken air source heat pump fitted to provide heating and hot water. The unit was fitted when the house was built 12 years ago. It seems that the previous owners of the house…

Octopus tariffs
I'm an ex-Avro customer and have been trying to find Octopus tariffs but have failed so far. Lots of links to tariffs but they don't tell me what they are. An Octopus suppot agent assured me that I would get a UK beating tariff but could not tell me its name or what the rates were. Also assured me that it would be £10 less…

Been sent a transfer to new supplier email by People's Energy despite no longer being a customer
I switched from People's Energy to Utility Point last February, but have just received an email from People's Energy notifying me my account has been transferred to British Gas. Is it possible form PE to have accidentally attempted to transfer old accounts? Anyone else got this type of email?

Insulation Grants for ALL ELECTRIC Homes - Plus Free Loft/Wall Cavity/Electric Storage Heaters
Hi, I am being bombarded with cold callers saying I can get my home FREE LOFT insulation/ replaced Old Storage Heaters for free / and Free cavity wall insulation done based solely on receiving the £20 child benefit - and apparently there is no income threshold. I cannot find any info on the Government website (though a…

Bulb and selling property question
I'm in the process of selling my property and my Bulb supply my gas and electricity. I hope to complete by the end of Oct and I know there's some uncertainty with Bulb atm. I'm just wondering if when I complete, Bulb goes under at that time or is taken over, it could cause complications with telling them I'm going and…

Cap Confusion
According to various websites the energy cap from today is £1277 for standard variable tariffs and that is based on Mr Average using 12000 kwh gas and 3100 kwh electricity. However If I put those consumption figures into Martin's comparison site the best offer I get is about £40 more than the cap. How can that be right.…

Bulb previous billing period increased bill
I have been taking screenshots of my Bulb account as advised by Martin Lewis and I'm glad I did, because my last bill I paid was for approximately £87. I have just checked my app and they have changed this to approximately £97. I am a loyal Bulb customer but this is a bit of a cheeky move by them. I am over £200 in credit…

Boost Power(OVO)
Due to horrendous customer service with Boost Power,I made a complaint - they did not respond within the required timescale,so I escalated it to Ombudsman Services Energy(who have been totally biased in favour of the energy companies in the past) They must have contacted Boost who telephoned me to offer £80 compensation…

Bulb payments
So I've been watching the news and am a little concerned that Bulb is one of the bigger firms at risk of going under. I've screen shot my current credit and downloaded the last year's worth of statements. My concern is that they automatically upped my monthly repayments initially from £76 to £109.44 stating that they were…

Meter Technical Details Incorrect at CoS date
Curious one I experienced today. I submitted my opening gas read to Eon Next today as I have switched away from Bulb. I could not do this for the electricity. I then checked my September Bulb statement to check the MTD's and they match the meters serial numbers. However when I looked at the details Eon gave for the…

The day before Green went to the wall I received confirmation of a 2-year fived deal switch I had accepted to move to British Gas. Two days later I had a message from Shell saying they'd be taking over my account at Ofgem's undisclosed price cap terms cost.I have 7 days from now to decide if I go with BG, but have yet to…

Utility Point direct debit
My monthly direct debit to Utility Point went through today. Is this normal? And will it show on my Utility Point statement? I was kind of expecting the payment to go to EDF, but it's gone to same UP account as in previous months. I'm trying to keep track of what my closing balance with UP should be to make sure that EDF…

MSE News: Energy bill hikes hit millions as price cap rises by an average £139/yr
Around 11 million households on standard tariffs will see energy bills jump by a typical £139/year as the new price cap kicks in today. But due to the extreme situation in the energy market, with wholesale prices at record highs, there are now no deals cheaper than the new price cap. Read the full story:'Energy bill hikes…

Help With An Energy Switch Debacle
As PFP recently went into administration, we were moved over to British Gas. This wasn't something we had any control over but understand such scenarios mean a new provider has to be named. Following the announcement, I then signed up with Octopus but was then told that according to industry terms, this is considered a…

Is Ofgem fit for purpose ?
The Price Cap is a valuable asset for consumers as it protects them from rip-off prices when they are forced onto Deemed Contracts when moving home, but it was always historically more expensive than a suppliers Fixed Term contracts. Ofgem set it twice a year - In April & October - and it worked well until now.The Cap they…
