Insulation Grants for ALL ELECTRIC Homes - Plus Free Loft/Wall Cavity/Electric Storage Heaters

Hi, I am being bombarded with cold callers saying I can get my home FREE LOFT insulation/ replaced Old Storage Heaters for free / and Free cavity wall insulation done based solely on receiving the £20 child benefit - and apparently there is no income threshold. I cannot find any info on the Government website (though a number of companies or using the Gov.uk name for their websites) about this at all and I am wondering if anyone has come across this - I suspect that with the amount of cold callers there is something dodgy or that they are not telling me  - "too good to be true" . One company is ESN Insulation Grants Ltd... Can anyone provide me with an official government website that details the criteria required... I believe I need to be under a certain income in order to avail of the grant from what I  have read so far along with the child benefit.

If they are cold calling you (why are you not on the TPS register ?), it is a fair bet there will be a scam or dodgy deal somewhere.

Yes, there are some grants available depending on personal circumstances under the Energy Company Obligation - Not all energy companies will provide a full range of grants, and the criteria is pretty tight. The starting point is https://www.gov.uk/improve-energy-efficiency which takes you to https://www.simpleenergyadvice.org.uk/pages/energy-company-obligation where you can check if you are eligible.

edit - Just did a quick search for "ESN Insulation Grants Ltd". Top of the list - https://www.bude-today.co.uk/article.cfm?id=114989&headline=Warning issued&sectionIs=news&searchyear=2020 - Good enough reason to tell that company where to go.

We've been on the register for years, still get several calls a day...
