Been sent a transfer to new supplier email by People's Energy despite no longer being a customer

I switched from People's Energy to Utility Point last February, but have just received an email from People's Energy notifying me my account has been transferred to British Gas.
Is it possible form PE to have accidentally attempted to transfer old accounts? Anyone else got this type of email?

Just check - was this for dual fuel and did both gas and electric transfer ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

This looks like a specifically targeted Phishing email, I received one too. They had the Data Breach that included account numbers, names, and other assorted information.I wouldnt click on the links your sent. My guess is this is a targed email Phising attempt against all customers in bulk - Highly worrying!0

I transferred dual fuel from PE to UP back in February - no problems. Just got an email from PE stating "Please see below information regarding your new supplier, their contact details, what to do now to ensure you receive a final accurate bill and answers to a few frequently asked questions....." with my old PE account number.
So looks like PE might have erroneously supplied BG with old customer details (or hopefully this is just a generic mailshot by PE that's gone a bit wrong)0 -
This forum design is ......I think it's a Phishing attempt. It looks well written, but in no other way does it look legit.0

Nope - doesn't seem to have any fish hooks in it - just a link to the BG "Contact Us" page and a legit BG phone number.0

i thought it wa the new supplier who would contact you and not the old. I would be very suspicious of this email....0

I've just done a double transfer, with SoLRs involved, and I've had notifications from both old and new suppliers in each case.

Well, despite the fact that can't find anything particularly malicious in it I'll assume it's a phishing attempt of some kind for now - just interested if any legit PE customers have received a similar email - seems to have originated from a
"bnc3.mailjet.com" source so I'm still suspecting a legit bulk mailing using the wrong customer information. 0 -
I have just received the same email @Sky_Dragon - it appears to be genuine to me but who knows.
I also switched away from PE in February but joined Octopus.
I do not want anything to do with BG so I'm hoping this has been sent in error.
I didn't even know PE had gone under until this email popped up.0 -
Mine is full of "(h)ttps://xkxhr.mjt.lu/lnk/" url's for everything.Mailjet Marketing, but god knows how "legit" that is, and it tracks people who click the links/url's (So if you do a URL scan on the tracking link, that counts as a hit).Oddly enough, the site seems to forward "much traffic" to peoples enrgy phishing advice page. Didnt use my specific URL.I too left early this yea, in March.0
