outstanding debt
My daughter has just received a bill after a whole year for over £800 in electric and gas from her supplier. She is a single parent and does suffer with anxiety etc. They are insisting she pays it over a period of a year at the rate of £250 a month and are insisting this is the only payment method they will accept. She…

What is the electric Price Cap tariff
The company I used Igloo has now ceased trading and we are being moved over to E-On Next, just before they ceased trading I was contacted by a switch company and had decided to move my electricity to Neon Reef because they offered a reasonable unit rate of 18.54, I am still in the 14 cooling off period and have been trying…

Electricity only
I've just had a message from MSE about my being switched from Symbio to Eon. The message mentions there are no tariffs worth switching to except one electric only tiddler. Anyone know who the tiddler is?

Incorrect TV info
Watched the Martin Lewis programme last night where he said the variable tariff was the cheapest and NOT to go for a fixed tariff as it was much more expensive. This was incorrect because I was invited onto a fixed rate tariff which will work out cheaper than the existing variable rate. I double checked using the tariffs…

Underhand Switching to Variable - Possible?
A potentially mad idea, but if an energy company is currently offering a variable tariff to its own customers that's not available to new customers then is it possible to switch to one of their fixed tariffs then immediately tell them to switch you to their variable tariff instead?Obviously you'd need to choose one where…

Help! Power history a mess and I’m losing money!
Hi, I was Green Energy, they closed, account taken over by EDF, now with Octopus. On looking back at billing history with Green and EDF after my final account credit balance was refunded from EDF, I’ve found my electricity day and night meter readings with Green have been swapped around and I have been way overcharged.…

Switch to Daligas
Has anyone managed to successfully switch their gas to Daligas recently? I signed up with a requested switch date of 8 October but apart from asking me to sign my signup form, I've not heard a thing from them

My existing energy company.
After looking on my present energy companies website, with Octopus Energy for a number of years, to see what the new energy prices are likely to be, I was annoyed to receive an email back from them saying, as of yesterday 7th October, they had put up my monthly amount to over double. My present fixed tariff doesn’t run out…

Symbio Energy - E.ON Refugee - when can I switch?
HI all as it says. Ex Symbio customer, now dumped onto E.ON. Annual Useage 4200kw as no mains gas. Got the welcome mail from E.ON did all the bits they asked and now want away from them A.S.A.P. as I will be paying 50% than with Neon Reef. When can I initiate the switch? Cheers. Psi

Contacted by two companies taking over energy supply
I'm posting this on behalf of my elderly parents. In August, after many years of having been a Green customer, my father switched to Avro. Obviously these things aren't instantaneous and the switch over was completed a couple of days before both Green and Avro went bust. In that time he did receive a welcome email from…

April Price Cap Prediction Daily Figures?
I know Martin's advice is to DO NOTHING but I've been doing some sums so I can decide whether or not to gamble on a fixed deal, which at the moment is about £400 more than the cap - ouch! What would really help is if I had some rates based on what the April cap might be. I've heard it could be anything from £1500-£2000 but…

Do nothing or revert? Octopus
Hi, I was on Flexible option with octopus before end of Sep but then I went for their fix, starting on 14th Oct, for two years, no exit fee. Last night Martin said do nothing…. Now I don’t know if I shouldn’t have fixed and should have stayed on flexi? The flexible option is cheaper comparing. If I ‘undo’, I would be able…

Smart meter fitted
Hi, need a little advice if i could. We have had a pre payment electricity meter for almost 20 years. We have been with Bulb for the last 2 years. Am thinking should we change to a smart meter on a monthly debit account or is it best to say on pre payment. Like everyone else the bills for electricity has sky rocketed.

Do I switch
I am currently on EDF which is due to run out end of October. If I stay with EDF my standard variable will be electric 20.60p per day and standing charge 25.09, gas 4.047p per kWh and 26.12 standing charge. Or do I move to EON fixed rate electric 23.37 per kWh and standing charge 47.19, gas 4.719 per kWh and standing…

Booked EDF dual fuel fix, only electricity showing
Hi I moved house in July and booked a 3 year fixed duel fuel tariff with EDF. I was feeling quite pleased with myself given the recent issues, but when I go on the app I only appear to have an electricity tariff. I’ve looked through my bills and have also only been charged for electricity. Now any dual fuel tariff is…

Never been on a variable tariff before-help!
Looking for some advice please. I'm really worried about getting into energy debt, been there before and so I'd rather know exactly what I need to pay each month. That's why I've always been on a fixed tariff and I knew exactly what my standing charge rate and unit rates were for my gas and electric. I took meter readings…

How long can an electric company not issue a bill due to a meter reading dispute ?
We moved into a house that had not been occupied for about 10 years on the 21st June. I arranged to take over the electric supply with OutFoxTheMarket, this began on the 4 July. All looked Ok and I started taking photographs of the meter readings and entering them on the website as usual. Here is my record: 00 (Unit) 06…
