Octopus are already offeriing a £140 WHD for 2021/22

I applied on the 7th and mine is still pending.  Last year I had mine accepted on the very same day.  Strange.

Maybe this year - they are going through every application with a fine toothed comb ?

Maybe.  Last year I applied with UC and LCWRA, this year I ticked UC and PIP.  I can't help but wonder if that was a mistake and PIP is taking time to verify, perhaps (whereas UC would have just been one benefit to verify).  Plus potentially staff illness on either end, I don't know *shrug*

I applied using low income and DLA and it was accepted the same day...

Mind  you - I did it on day one of the applications opening

I applied on the evening of the 7th, according to their e-mail.  It's not been rejected, just says it's still pending.

If you haven’t been credited within 6 weeks, it’s worth checking the status on your dashboard or the situations below. Ofgem requires us to keep 5-10% of applications aside to check with DWP and these are randomly selected.

That may explain it - I hope!

Just to update that 9 weeks later they've finally approved mine.  (Bit different from it not even taking 9 hours last year!)
