Who's responsible?! Gas Meter Box
Hi all, This is my first post so please forgive any lack of etiquette... My gas meter box lock 'triangle' snapped off when I tried to read the meter a few weeks ago, but it's still in the locked position and I can't unlock it. I've contacted British Gas, who supply me and they said Transco were responsible and if I forced…

Switching question
I am with EDF and my plan ends 31st Dec. I have applied to switch to Bulb. Should I change to a new tariff with EDF so that they don't put me on one with exit fees as I don't think the switch will happen in time? or maybe I'm going about this the wrong way? I have not done this before so a bit clueless.

Tonik Energy - Fixed Tariff Debit
If someone could help on the issue below, it will be greatly appreciated! My parents are currently with Tonik Energy & their Positively Green v5 fixed tariff (1yr) recently ended last week. They were paying £67 per month and in process of moving to new suppliers at the start of January. All bills have been paid, until they…

Immersion Heater Overflowing - No clue
Evening All, Apologies if this is in the wrong area, please let me know if it is. So turns out, my flat has decided to give me it's own version of a Christmas Gift- an overflowing immersion heater! I have no clue about plumbing or boilers so there may not even be anything wrong. I'd really appreciate it if you could help…

Scottish Power high payment
We had a letter from Scottish Power saying we had overpaid by over £1000 and they were reducing our payment to £8 per month in April 2016. We had a further letter in April 2017 that we were still in credit but payment would go up to £30 per month. April 2018 another letter saying we had not paid enough and now owe them…

Switching tariff with edf
I am currently on a fixed rate tariff V2 Jan 19 with Edf when I go to the Uswitch comparison site I see I can switch to another Edf fixed tariff until Jan 20 . However it says online switching only which I assumes is going through Uswitch. Do EDF offer this tariff to existing customers who contact them directly? TIA

Electric-only flat- is a £130 monthly bill normal?
Hello, I've recently moved into a flat with an electric combi boiler and no gas. I'm used to having gas central heating, so I'm not sure if the £130 bill I've just received for one month's usage is unusual. We have the heating and hot water on for four hours a day (2 morning, 2 evening), with the occasional extra hour when…

MSE not aware of company collapse!
Some months back I switched gas+elec supplier to OneSelect via MSE EC. A few days back this company went bust, owing me and others a lot of money. I know the money is safe but I cannot switch away from Together Energy until they let me! Meanwhile I went back to MSE and did another comparison. To my great 'surprise' they…

Utilities Switch: Ombudsman Settlement & Cashback (Cheap Energy Club)
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it's the closest match I could find. I switched both fuels through the CEC to a fixed price tariff in mid May 2018, and last week finally got the settlement offer from the energy ombudsman, as Npower needed to slightly alter my address in the national database, but just…

British Gas not honouring free boiler & controls cover
Having seen on MSE the offer to switch to British Gas and get the free £30 boiler and controls cover with their cheap tariff, i did so in November. However, BG are not honouring it. They’ve not sent me the policy details or the my homecare number. I have called them and they just keep telling me “I don’t have it” and i…

Get a new electricity meter fitted privately?
My provider (spark) has been supposed to replace my meter for several months now. They keep booking in appointments then not showing up and now, they're being taken over by Ovo and say they're having to get a new contractor so cannot take bookings at all. I'm sick and tired of this and wondered can I just pay someone to do…

When is the best time to switch?
My current plan from OVO ends on 06/02/2019 & I have looked at their price for next year & their quote has gone up from £87 per month to £108. I have done a few comparisons & the cheapest fixed plan is by So Energy who look to have good reviews. They are estimating the supply date as 12/01/2019. Should i switch now or wait…

900KwH Electricity usage - 6 months - Empty Flat
Hope someone can suggest next steps. This was a tenanted flat in a very large recently built development. There is a smart meter in the flat providing 'district heating' system to the development- we get heating/hot water billed separately. All other electricity charges are from another energy provider, with a separate…
