My provider (spark) has been supposed to replace my meter for several months now. They keep booking in appointments then not showing up and now, they're being taken over by Ovo and say they're having to get a new contractor so cannot take bookings at all.

I'm sick and tired of this and wondered can I just pay someone to do this privately, or is this impossible? I could switch provider but then that has a delay too and I'd rather it was sorted out.

    No -its not possible.

Switch to a new supplier and hope they may be better.

What's the problem with your current electricity meter?
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

It certainly is possible to arrange to have your own electric meter fitted. Of course the fitter needs to be qualified.. The same go s for the gas meter.. I got this information from a senior manager of British Gas Revenue Protection.
This is one reason why the sale of gas meters on Fleabay is not regulated and cannot be legally stopped

Any ideas as to how you find such a fitter ? As the fitters for the suppliers can make a mess up of their records - the mind boggles when free lancers do it.
