Meter broken so happy days?
Hi. 2 days ago the electric went off in our street and stayed off for at least 4 hours. Today I checked our electric meter (not the spinning disk part - that is fine) and the digital reading is just flashing lots of zeros; I rang Scottish Power and they have booked an appointment in 3 weeks time for unit to be replaced. I…

Estimated readings vs actual reading difference
Hi, My flat became a sort of second home for the last three years - I went overseas for work reasons and barely returned home (less than a week per year). My flat was empty but Scottish Power kept charging based on estimated readings. I did not pay too much attention to it, since I hoped on my return I would be able to…

Gas useage
Hi, Just moved into a new home (4 bed semi) and after being here a month I have used 272 cubic metres of gas since 11th November. I'm thinking it's a bit on the high side but would like a second opinion before I start enforcing the wearing of blankets and turning down the thermostat! What do people think? TIA

Npower trying to bypass Ombudsman
I have had an ongoing complaint with Npower for several months now. They have failed to respond to formal complaints and eventually sent a standard letter saying I could go to the Ombudsman (which I was already in the process of doing anyway) as they had still not managed to resolve my complaint. Now they are ringing…

Fed Up With NPower. Any Advice?
On Friday 28/11/14 I rang nPower and asked why my monthly direct debit for the electric had jumped from £90 to £110. I was told that meter readings were needed before they could sort this out, which is reasonable enough. I took the readings and rang nPower back with them to be told that the payments for the electric could…

Eon incorrect bill (advice needed)
Dear all, I have been having trouble with EON for nearly a year now and wanted some advice on how to best remedy the issue. It is a simple, stupid mistake by them which seemingly is never corrected. Basically I moved into this property in Jan, immediately setup a move from EON to EDF and provided my meter reads to EDF who…

Ovo Energy
Am absolutely disgusted with this company who I have just switched to. Having signed up to a Direct Debit for a certain amount they advised me today ( three days after the cooling off period had expired) that they had decided to take an extra 10% on my direct debit "because it is winter" although if they had checked they…

First Utility - Scam bill collection text/phone calls?
I left First Utility in December 2013. They have never been able to give me a closing bill but did (after a lot a grief contacting customer services) refund me the £200 sitting in my account. I'm very happy to pay anything I owe if they can provide me a bill! 2 weeks ago I got a phone call saying it was about my first…

Transferring electric supply to Scottish Power
My contract is due to expire and Scottish Power's January 2016 Fixed is the best tariff for me. This morning I received an email link to enter my opening reading. I logged in, found the page and entered my reading. Computer said '500 Something is wrong'. Tried a different browser, same result. I called the number given on…
