N Power advice - Change of Address
I could do with some advice. I left my home 8 months ago due to abuse. My ex partner has paid the joint fuel bill by DD since the account was set up and has continued to do so. However, she has now cancelled the account but only from April rather than last September which is in my name on the bill and as the payments have…

Southern Electric Complaints
Hi, New to the forum but hoping you brilliant consumers can help me! Prepayment meter usage vs credit meter
Right, this is going to sound odd and I hope it makes sense. Last week we had credit meters put in having had prepayment since we moved in last August. Throughout the winter we averaged at £30 per week on the gas meter, obviously this was winter usage and it suggests that if that was all year kwh would be 22000. After one…

Problems with E.On and F.I.T application
6th April, we had a 3kw solar system fitted that was purchased by ourselves. After checking the figures, we agreed that a finance plan would be "near enough" self financing for a majority of the year, given the F.I.T payments, and easily paid off with no penalty if we required. 16 days ago, the mountain of paperwork was…

3 years ago British gas put me on a tariff for the old & sick
3 years ago British gas put me on a tariff for the old & sick for which i was grateful. i forget the name of this scheme. £750 gas/elec bill on mostly empty house [British Gas]
Hi, In Jan-2011, I moved to Manchester with a friend. In Jan-2013, she moved out. This week, I'm moving out and got landed with a £750ish gas/elec bill from British Gas. The typical bill has been £100-150/quarter over the past 2 years. The last meter reading was in Nov-2012, and the house has been mostly unoccupied since…

First Utility Price Increase
I have been with First utility for a few months, and all was fine after a few hiccups. however just got an email through saying that my tariff is changing from June 1st because of rising costs, etc. and giving me the option to fix prices, which are even higher again. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I can't see any news…

Gas meter conundrum
Here's a problem. Any suggestions welcome. We have lived in our council flat for 13 years. In that time we have only ever had electricity supplied. There is a live gas supply but we have never had a meter. The council want to install gas central heating. Hooray! We say. Just get a meter installed and away we go. Problem:…
