NOOB Question, FIRST Time Gas Supply In Flat.

Hey all, just looking for some clarification.....
I stay in a block of flats that has gas in all the other flats except mine.
I have now applied for a new gas connection, which is due to be installed soon.
However as I only have electricity just now, should I just contact my existing supplier (Scottish Power) and get them to fit a meter, or does this give me an upper hand to goto other energy suppliers because i am going to be giving them more cash for another service.
Also will i have to pay for a meter to be installed?

It is up to you as to which supplier you use, and as for charges each supplier is different, if you have proven record with electricity supplier they may not charge where others may do .

Dual Fuel discount means you get a small discount for having the same supplier for both Gas and Electricity. It is still possible that separate suppliers will be cheaper, so there's homework to do.
