BG trying to stiff me!
When we first moved into our house we were with BG for about 3 weeks for electricity. They mucked up the first bill as they failed to get the correct start reading. They tried to charge us for 1000kw/h instead of about 1. We weren't actually living in the house at the time as it was a repossession and needed work. We…

Prepayment meters - should I change?
I've always said when I could change I would but now I'm not so sure, we use on average £5-10 electric a week depending if we use tumble drier and around £15 gas a week, both with British Gas, would it be loads cheaper to change to continuous supply? We'd pay by direct debit either monthly or quarterly if we were to change.

Direct debit versus paying quarterly
I have just had a letter from my gas and electric supplier increasing my direct debit. I use about £900+ of gas and electric in the winter months but it drops to about £300 in the summer. It used to work out that I was in debit in the winter but by October I was even. Now I will be overpaying for my gas and electric usage…

Scottish Power - Problem with Direct debit payments
I apologise first of all if this thread is not in the correct place. Switching from Economy 7
We have Economy 7 but don't have storage heaters, never have had since we bought our flat in 1998. We don't run any appliances between midnight and 7am (the washing machine would wake us up if we tried it) so can't take advantage of the lower cost then, so we would like to switch from E7. Has anyone done this and if so did…
