Ebico

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience of this utility company? We're thinking of signing up and just wanted to sound them out.

Thanks!

There are loads of threads on Ebico if you care to search the site.

    Here is one (bit long)

On the good side the price you pay is the same whether you are on prepayment direct debit or pay the bills as they arrive.
Also they have a flat rate unit cost and no standing charges.
Customer service is excellent and handled by Southern Electric, who also do the billing.
On the downside they are no longer competitive unless you are a Very low user of gas, and their electricity is particularly expensive.

I still use then for gas but have recently switched electric to British gas Click 6 ( no longer available)

I'd suggest you do a few more on line comparisons before you leap.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • I got my father (very low user) onto them a couple of years ago and we have been happy enough with the customer service and billing etc (it's all done by Southern Electric) but I have recently transferred my father's electric to Scottish Power as it is now very uncompetitive, even for very low users. Ebico are IME a far better company to deal with than ANY of the Big 6 I have personally used. Whether that's daming with faint praise or not I shall leave up to you to decide, lol.
    Call me Carmine....

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??

Yes Jelliebeen, good company........Carmine, you going soft LOL
  • Thanks. I've decided to go for them for gas and Good Energy for electric. Their customer care does seem pretty good, the little experience of it I've had so far.

    Thanks again for the advice!

  • Im with Ebico for gas & electric & they or Southern Electric who administer the accounts have just changed my billing period from quarterly to six monthly! Anyone else had them do this? I'm going to dump all the money I put aside to pay the bills in my ISA

No, they still charge me quarterly.

I wish they would extend my billing period, about once a decade would be nice. :D

They put me over to six monthly a while back.
And meters are read so no more estimated bills, makes sense.
