LPG Gas - expensive or what!!!

I live in a rural location that does not have mains gas (and is unlikely to!) and I am on bottled LPG gas.
Currently, I am paying close on £1 per litre for my supplies, and this winter so far has cost me well in excess of £700, with still 2 months to go!!
I am considering an electric combination boiler to replace my gas one, but I need to understand the running costs of one of these. Anyone have a link to where I can find out more info, please?
Many thanks
Daz
P.S. Is domestic LPG the same as auto-gas, and if so, why is it so much more expensive????

Forget gas and install an Air Source heat pump.
Quite a few of us on the forum have these now and they are a fantastic alternative to gas and very cheap to run, see the 'other fuel' forum - just as an example I'm at 24 degrees and it's costing me 600w an hour, or about 6p - and you can DIY install them.0 -
Could you give a link to the other fuel forum please? This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0
