Is there a charge for using emergency credit on prepayment meters (electric)?
We're currently in the process of moving homes. The old place's electric is in to the emergency credit. On Sunday evening I noted there was £1.32 remaining of the emergency credit. On leaving I turned off all the lights and unplugged any remaining electrical items. The next morning the credit had gone down to £1.01 - I…

EON Gas Bill Woes... Help!
Hi folks, new here, though long time lurker. I've just received a catch-up gas bill from EON for £670, for a 1 bed flat! Whenever the guy came to read the meter I told them to speak to the landlord as I don't have access to it. So over the last 3 years, since moving in, a discrepancy of 650 units has accrued. I have 2…

Gas & Elec - wrong to fix ?
Oil now @ c$90 a barrell That should mean a dramatic % fall in energy prices ?? Rough calculations come in @ 35% in gas & 25% in elec Also, will this now lead to an equally dramatic fall in inflation? cheaper fuel at the pumps should filter through in the coming weeks so transportation costs / manufacturing costs will…

NPower woes
It's a long story which i'll try to keep v. short so no one loses the will to live. We have economy 10 and were with Eon, June 07 asked NPower if they could support that tariff were told they could so switched to them. Received all the usual fluff from them and nothing else, called repeatedly asking for bills nothing.…

Capped Gas supply
Right, got a new meter... Intelligent installers decide that its not enough to just turn it off.. they have put a cap in somewhere to stop the gas working. Firstly, where would the cap be? Secondly, how much would I be looking at to get a Corgi out to remove it.

What happens if a new supplier changes prices
Hi If I switch to a new supplier and during the switch process they increase their prices what happens and what options would one have? Thanks
-
How long will a new supplier mobilise
Hi It seems to be a near standard that when you switch your new supplier has up to 15days to contact your old supplier for you to not be bound by any new changes. What are people's experiences as to how fast the new company is in doing this as if they miss this then the benefit of switching is greatly removed Thanks

Oil price down to 91 dollars
The price of oil is now down to 91 dollars, the same price it was in October 2007. That's 1/3 lower then it was in July when the energy companies started to increase prices for the second time this year. Not a squeek yet from the energy companies.

Need some advice please MSE
Howdy. I've recently moved into a rented property and my supplier (scottish power) have estimated my gas and electric use over the past 2 months as £95 per month which seems ludicrous. They don't accept that it's absurd and I don't know what i'm talking about so I can't argue back. I've been looking at switching but given…

Is it worth changing to a capped tariff or staying put & losing annual discount?
Am currently with npower & get annual discount of £84 in my end of year bill (sep-dec). Have been on a couple of comparison sites & can get a capped rate until nov 2009 with e-on that is cheaper than staying with npower on their sign online 6 (would save about £14 per month), but if I switch now I wouldn't get the discount…

EON billing fiddle or mistake?
I received my bill from EON last week for my electricity supply. I noticed that it was based upon an estimated reading, though there is no reason why it should have been as my meter is in an outside box. The previous bill was based upon an actual reading taken in May. The estimate was low by 600kWh compared to an actual…

European Energy Prices - the Truth !
There are several threads running concerning energy prices in "rip-off" Britain. These have now degenerated into personal sniping and rather pointless nit-picking. Below are Eurostat (EU Statistics Office) figures for European energy prices; from these it would appear that we are not getting a bargain, neither are we being…
