How long will a new supplier mobilise

Options
Hi

It seems to be a near standard that when you switch your new supplier has up to 15days to contact your old supplier for you to not be bound by any new changes.

What are people's experiences as to how fast the new company is in doing this as if they miss this then the benefit of switching is greatly removed

Thanks

When you switch elecricity suppliers you suppliers registers its intention to take you as a customer via a service called MPAS which in terms advises your old supplier. Suppliers can start this process either before or after the coolling off period and they will normally select a 'supply start date' a few weeks in the future to allow all the necessary data to be passed between the parties involved (and there are lots) before that date is reached. Therefore you can expect 4-6 weeks between signing up and the supply start date.
