Atlantic pricing areas
I've just received a letter from Atlantic detailing the price rises and the new prices all depend on which area you're in. But I could easily be in any of 3 of the areas (each with different prices) and I can't find anything to tell me which one I'm actually in. Can anyone tell me how I find out? Thanks :)

Click Energy 5 Dual Fuel from British Gas
Hi, I've been with E.ON (nee Powergen) for a few years now, I paid £930 last year for dual fuel so thought about a change. According to USwitch the best deal for me is "Click Energy 5 Dual Fuel from British Gas" which works out to be £170 annual saving plus £60 Quidco.:D Before I take the plunge does anyone have any…

Delay in switching to Click Energy 4 tariff.
Back in December, I signed up for Click Energy4 online tarrif. I was on EDF pre-payment at the time. It took them from December to February to switch over, but because I had prepayment meters, they had to switch me to British Gas prepayment first then install the credit meters. Now, from February up until now, I've been…

NPower Price Hike
hi Martin, As an avid reader of your newsletters - they ALWAYS give me sound advice, I thought you might be interested in hearing of my experience with Npower. Although my meter was read last year, NPower simply sent me estimated bills, which I paid without a qualm, after all they've been providing me with my electricity…

Hi, Wonder if anyone has any advice? Moved into a new house almost 6 months ago. We had a bill back in December for £1700!!! We had only been in a few weeks!! So we called them up, gave them a reading and then about 8 weeks later we received 3 bills on the same day for differing amounts: £800, £1100 and £1800!!! Called…

E-on Tariff Discount Error
I've just received my first bill from E-on and so I was checking it in fine detail. I'm on the EnergyOnline Extra Saver 5 plan, so I'm supposed to be getting a total of 15% in discounts for paying by DD, operating the account online and taking dual fuel. However, I couldn't get the discount figure to agree with my…

Should I Cap If It Costs 30% More?
I recently switched to the Eon Energy Online Extra Saver Standing Charge 5 tariff on dual fuel and I am now thinking of switching to Scottish Power to get one of their competitive capped rates to avoid the expected fuel rises. The problem is I have done all of the calculations on KWh etc and double checked with the various…

Can anyone offer me some advice please?
Hi everyone, I used moneysupermarket.com to switch my gas & elec last month. It recommended I change from npower's satandard tariff to npower's SOL 10 for both, which I then signed up for. Now I'm seriously thinking I should possibly be looking at a capped deal with the predicted price hikes. Q1. Could I just do another…

I've been duped by N Power!
Feel like such an idiot! Back in December two young men came knocking on my door asking me to change over to them, N Power, so I gave them my British Gas bills and said if you can beat what I pay everymonth (bearing in mind I was fixed price) then I will move over. They showed me all these figures, convinced me if I moved…

Gas Meter Replacement
Does a gas supplier have to change your gas meter every few years to ensure that it is accurate? If so, does anyone know how frequently this needs to be done? I have an old gas meter that reads in cubic feet and I would prefer one that reads in cubic metres (i find it easier to understand!!) but my supplier says that they…

Newbie needs advice on changing supplier
I have been with one and only fuel supplier since I got my own place 2 years ago (renting). I would now like to switch to save money - I am currently with Scottish Hydro Electric. I put my details into energyhelpline.com and also rang them up for some assistance. However, I am always wary about being caught out and ripped…

Switch from prepaid to direct debit???
Hi, I currently have two prepaid meters in my flat for gas and electricity. Both are supplied by Scottish Hydro Electric. I currently pay about £25-30 a month electricity and £10 a week gas. DD gone up by nearly £70
I got an email from scottish power a couple of days ago asking for my meter reading. Did this and submitted it to them online. Today I got an email saying they've adjusted my DD from £15 to £84.50:eek: They say this is to stop any large arrears (which is understandable) but that is a BIG leap. My next meter reading will…

Concerned about energy costs - something not right
Hi, I've been with Powergen - now Eon for a couple of years now. My bills have been high for a while now, but everytime I question Eon they say it's correct. However, when I take my yearly Kwh consumption and do a search via uswitch I get a quote that costs half of what I'm paying! From last May to this May I've paid -…

SP Discounted Energy online should I switch to Fixed?
Hi I've recently switched to Scottish Power Discounted Energy online and after reading all the posts on here I think maybe I should switch to one of the fixed SP deals instead. Obviously I wouldn't qualify for any cashbacks or deals as I'm already with SP. Am I being too hasty as the Discounted Energy deal gives me a…
