Evening all. I have a pre-paid electric meter with BG and its currently costing somwere in the region of £60 a month..!!!:eek: What is the best way to get this removed and fitted with a standard meter, is it better to switch at the same time or just get BG to do it. Does it cost to have the meter changed. Many thanks.

Threats of price rises
It's interesting that energy companies are actively pushing these fixed price tariffs. If the prices rise as much as they say they might, they will loose out if everyone switches to a fixed price until 2011. Its not like we would of had a choice not to pay.

switching when have debt?
Can anyone help? We have a debt with Souther electric for gas for £300 ish and they have just asked us to pay £100 per month to clear debt and rest goes towards what we use - we also pay £54 to elec company - can we switch even if debt o/s??
