I think I know the reason BG are giving away energy saving lightbulbs.

When their present customers leave them and switch to another supplier, they won't use as much electricity and therefore BG's competitor's won't make as much profit !

Free energy saving light bulbs from British Gas?

Typical - just after I've recently left them!

Ah, well, I'm sure I could afford to buy enough to refit the whole house with the money I'll save on my next bill from my new supplier :D
    (2 for 99p at Morrisons I believe)

    i received mine on friday...

hmmm, from reading the posts it seems everyone is happy with their free bulbs....

i guess i'm all alone on the other side of the fence......for the cost of the bulbs, the packaging, the postage, and the adverts on mainstream television, i would have rather had that money reduced off my fuel bill than bulbs that are of no use to me....

they sent me four bayonet bulbs but all my fixtures at home are either screw caps or flourescent tubes.....

it just peeves me that british gas are trying to gain some credit by this publicity stunt....

i appreciate they are trying to help people be more energy aware, but i already do many things at home to reduce my energy consumption...

if they really wanted to show they care about reducing my bills, they would have reduced my bill....not sent a free gift....

I too recieved mine a few weeks ago, but agree with you..... I would rather have got a £10 or so reduction on bills as I now have a cupboard full of energy lightbulbs.
