E-on Tariff Discount Error
I've just received my first bill from E-on and so I was checking it in fine detail. I'm on the EnergyOnline Extra Saver 5 plan, so I'm supposed to be getting a total of 15% in discounts for paying by DD, operating the account online and taking dual fuel. However, I couldn't get the discount figure to agree with my calculation - it worked out at 14.87%. Now this doesn't equate to very much money (about 10p on my bill) but then again it should be accurate, shouldn't it?
So I rang E-on, who looked into it and admitted that there's a software error in their billing system! They said they would correct the error and amend my account.
So how many other customers are not quite getting the discount they are entitled to? I'm sure most people would never expect the computer to be wrong, would they?
