BG online
Apologies if this has already been mentioned - but I see that it is now impossible to view bills online at the moment. Great if you've signed up for paperless billing! Obviously they've had so many complaints that they must actually be trying to do something about it now!! I've had so much trouble for months and months…

Question on submitting own meter reading
My gas acccount is with EDf energy and I have been receiving estimated gas bills since I have been with them. On my latest bill (January) the meter estimate is much smaller than my true meter reading so I have submitted this to them on-line. (I have now signed up to send them readings each quarter so I shouldn't get…

Slightly OT: Changing Electric Meter
When you have your electric meter changed, how do the workmen turn the power of as so not to get electrocuted? Because if you remove the meter, you're left with a live wire sticking out the ground.

Meter reading
I signed to Brit Gas around 6 years ago. During that time they have never read the electric meter. They must be paying to have meters read by Metering Services and I would assume that they offset this against my bill, so in effect I will pay towards having my meter read, as this has not been done surely I am paying for a…

British Gas owe me money!
Hi all, I left British Gas at the end of November, switching to Atlantic for a cheaper rate. I was paying a fixed amount each month for Gas and Electricity. One account was in debit by about £60 and one was in credit by about £90. BG took their payment for the debit approx. two weeks later, but guess what I'm still waiting…

Don't pay increase whilst waiting to switch
In an earlier post I asked if anyone knew if energy suppliers can increase prices without notifying the customer first. The energywatch website answered the question "Can suppliers put up prices without telling me?" I was then able to instruct customer services at BG. I'm sure seasoned moneysavers already knew this and…

Scottish Power Direct Debit rises - how to avoid it
Hopefully someone might find my experiences yesterday useful. A bit of background - my ex moved out of the flat in April 2006. Gigantic gas bill
My latest gas bill for a quarter -- £269!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We live in a three bedroom house, are not extravagant with the heating. Our boiler is over 25 years old but surely that can't make THAT much of a difference. Or have gas prices gone up so much? Our yearly consumtion would suggest we live in a mansion.
