Don't pay increase whilst waiting to switch
In an earlier post I asked if anyone knew if energy suppliers can increase prices without notifying the customer first. The energywatch website answered the question "Can suppliers put up prices without telling me?" I was then able to instruct customer services at BG. I'm sure seasoned moneysavers already knew this and there's probably a post to that effect somewhere, but it's something worth repeating.
The answer is you dont have to pay the increase if you decide to switch to another company within 14 days of being informed of the price rise and you must be informed not later than 10 days after the increase. Check out the energywatch site for clarification.
