Champagne from uswitch.com?
On recommendation from here, I did a price comparison for our Scottishpower fuel prices on uswitch.com. As a result, I moved from them to NPower. I also used Martin's link, entitling me to a free bottle of champagne. This arrive about a month ago, and then, about an hour ago, another one was delivered!! :j but …

Fixed Price offer by EDF
Hi, I've had a fixed price offer from EDF, fixing my prepayment electricity meter rates (no gas) untill 2010. What they don't tell you in the letter, but they do on the web site, is that there is an additional charge of something like £1.10 a month. Would this be a good deal? cheers, nick

Does the change in electric supply for normal to ecomomy 7 trigger them? I have storage heaters and i find them to be quite expensive (electricity bill is £50-60/m in winter in a one bed flat with…

BF and I are just about to move into our first home. Economy 7 (electric) - how much could we save?
Hi, My partner and I have recently brought our first house together and both the Leccy and Gas are unfortunately with British Gas at the moment. We'll be looking to change supplier once the market evens out a bit but in the meantime I'd like to know how much we could save if we got economy 7 into our house. Also, would…

Npower to British Gas, are they as bad as each other?
I recently bought my first place and decided to swith electricity supplier. The outgoing supplier, NPower sent me an estimated bill for £24 which, after reading the meter, should have been more like £6. I've made numerous phone calls to both suppliers and instigated a handover "dispute", a common practice. British Gas lost…

Uswitch / Countrywide weirdness
Hi, this is my first post; thought it was time to add something instead of just leeching information! I dig this forum; it caused me to spend all day yesterday in a major offensive against utility companies. So thanks to all for your wisdom. Anyway, not sure whether this should go here or the mortgage forum, you'll see…

And even better, we guarantee at the end of next year your energy prices…

Help - is there an easy formula for calculating my gas bill ?
Hi Sorry if this is already on the board somewhere - I'm new here :) After having very high bills this last quarter, I am trying to keep an eye on how much my bills on a weekly basis so I don't get such a shock again. I'm fairly ok with the electric reading, although I seem to be charged at two different rates and not sure…
