That will depend on your tariff.
If you have Economy 7 then it's cheaper at night but more expensive in the day than a standard single tariff.
Why do you think your bills are horrendous?0 -
Its only cheaper if you are on Economy 7 tarrif with 2 meters otherwise the same cost day or night.

Thanks so much. I'm not sure what our tarriff is but I have never seen Economy 7 mentioned and we only have 1 meter, so I'm presuming we're not on that.
I've no idea why our bills are so high, they just seem to be creeping up and up. I never leave things on standby, and we have gas for our cooker, central heating and water.
I'm going to change all our lightbulbs over, and I'm trying to cut down hubby's tumble drier use as I feel it must use up an awful lot of electricity. And obviously going to scour these boards for hints and tips!0 -
I only use my tumble dryer if its an emergency otherwise the washing goes out on the line... rainy winter days are the only other time I use it....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Watch the news! Energy is expensive just now.carinska wrote:I never leave things on standby, and we have gas for our cooker, central heating and water.
While the headline price might seem horrendous it's the units used that matter.
If you have old bills compare the consumption not the price.0 -

If you cannot find old bills, you might be able to get them if your company has an on-line facility.
Or phone the company and check what your consumption history has been.0
